I'm heading to Cleveland, OH to visit family and while I'm excited to see them and my bestie I think I'm even more excited for fall. It is my favorite season and I'm so very excited to experience an actual fall with turning leaves and crisp air. So in honor of celebrating fall and grande PSLs here are my favorite fall crafts, activities, and celebrations of nature.
- Check out your local park and grab a friend for a nature walk or hike. Make sure you take a camera or have a full charge on your phone to take lots of pictures of all the fabulous colors and changes.
- On aforementioned nature walk collect leaves to make your own fall crafts. (check out our Fall Celebration board on Pinterest for ideas!). If you've got kids you can take some paper and crayons and have them do leaf rubbings at the park.
- Decorate the house for fall. Fall doesn't mean you have to wait until Halloween to decorate. Switch out pillows and decorations around the house for more fall appropriate decorations in hues of oranges and reds. Decorate your front door area with gourds, squashes and pumpkins either real or decorated fake ones. Another simple swap is to get some big, warm, comfy blankets in autumnal hues to spice up the place, plus when it gets a bit chilly you can wrap yourself up in one.
- CANDLES! They add some fall color as well as wonderful autumn scents like pumpkin pie, apples, etc. that bring fall inside. Plus scent memory is the strongest and will easily transport you to your own slice of nature, or slice of pie.
- Learn something new. I firmly believe in the learning something new every day ideal, but sometimes learning something new might take more than just a day. So if the kids are back to school and nature is inspiring you, go out and learn. There are many local programs that are offered nationwide to help you learn something new. Check out local art centers or community colleges for classes. OEDb offers a wide variety of free online courses.
- Living in Los Angeles I can't say it is much of an issue but prep yourself for Fall by pulling out your scarves and sweaters. I wish it would cool down enough out here on the west coast because I love rocking a scarf!
- I'm not much of a costume type but start planning for Halloween. I've already begun posting decorations and costume ideas to my Celebrations board on Pinterest.
Go out and enjoy nature and all Fall has to give before it gets too cold to be fully enjoyed.
Hope, pineapples, and best wishes,
Jordan
